I Sunrise - Southeast recap October 22, 2013

Coronado's Jackson Cofer recorded the longest rushing play in I Sunrise - Southeast this season in his game against Foothill last week. Cofer ran for 90 yards on the play and finished with 225 on the day as his team bested the Falcons.

Liberty extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Eldorado, 54-0. The victory was the fourth in a row for the Patriots.

Drew Doxtator threw for 344 yards and 3 touchdowns. He was 21-40 with 0 interceptions.

Cofer was a passing and rushing force as Coronado topped Foothill. He completed 14 passes for 149 yards and 1 touchdown and also ran for 225 yards. Cofer's favorite target this week was Michael Simpson, who caught 5 passes for 100 yards.

Cofer was a beast in the backfield as Brad Talich's team defeated Martin Redmond's team.

David Persi was the best receiver in the league this week as the Falcons lost to the Cougars. Persi tallied 10 receptions for 179 yards. Bryce Broadwell helped Foothill's passing attack out by catching 6 balls for 95 yards.

6-foot-0 quarterback Tyler Newman of Liberty is the league leader in passing yards this season with 2,096. He has also thrown 26 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Persi. The Foothill star has 42 catches for 696 yards.

A big matchup in I Sunrise - Southeast this week will be when Basic takes on Rich Muraco's team. At the moment, the Wolves are in fourth, while the Patriots are in first.

Liberty took down the Sundevils 54-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Newman threw for 212 yards and 4 touchdowns in the win.
