Baseball Recap: Pinnacle Wins Going Away Against Sunnyslope

Pinnacle barely beat Sunnyslope the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Pinnacle put the hurt on Sunnyslope with a sharp 6-0 victory on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Pioneers, who have now won five matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Pinnacle got a great performance from Dean Duran as he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Duran has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Raul Escobar, who scored a run while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Erik Moo also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Pinnacle's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-6-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Sunnyslope, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-10.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pinnacle will host Liberty at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Sunnyslope, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Arizona College Prep at 4:00 p.m.
