Basketball Recap: Fremont Comes Up Short

Fremont lost against Whitehall back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Fremont Packers were outmatched by the Whitehall Vikings and fell 81-41. The Packers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-19.

Camden Thompson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Whitehall, going 6-for-8 to rack up 22 points along with eight rebounds and six steals. Thompson has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more boards the last 44 times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brock Morningstar, who posted eight points in addition to six steals and five assists.

Fremont has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 6-15 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.8 points over those games. As for Whitehall, their victory bumped their record up to 16-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fremont will welcome Manistee at 7:00 p.m. on February 21st. Manistee has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Whitehall, they will be playing at home against Orchard View at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Whitehall is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 66 points per game this season.
