Basketball Game Preview: Smith Academy Fighting 54th vs. Harlan Christian

Smith Academy is preparing for their first conference matchup of the season on Monday. They will be home for the holidays to greet Harlan Christian at 6:00 p.m. Smith Academy has given up an average of 70 points per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Smith Academy is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Clinton Christian on Saturday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Fighting 54th lost 62-37 to the Couriers.

Meanwhile, Harlan Christian gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener back in November. They snuck past Emmanuel Christian with a 52-47 victory. The win was familiar territory for Harlan Christian, who have now won four contests in a row dating back to last season.

Smith Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Harlan Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.

Smith Academy didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Harlan Christian in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, but they still walked away with a 72-66 win.
