Basketball Recap: Costa Mesa Takes a Loss

Costa Mesa's tournament run continued when they took on Elsinore on Monday. The Costa Mesa Mustangs fell 78-66 to the Elsinore Tigers. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Saturday (65), the Mustangs still had to take the loss.

Costa Mesa has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season. As for Elsinore, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-8.

Costa Mesa is taking a road trip to take on Godinez Fundamental at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Godinez Fundamental has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Elsinore, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Temecula Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Elsinore's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five contests.
