It was a good run, but The Walnut Ridge Bobcats unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They were the victim of a rough 41-20 loss at the hands of Hoxie. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Walnut Ridge in their matchups with Hoxie: they've now lost five in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Walnut Ridge lost, one person who can't be blamed is Enrique Perez. Despite the final result, he rushed for 100 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries. Perez is on a roll when it comes to solo tackles, as he's now made six or more in the last three games he's played.
Hoxie was led to victory by Camden Brooks and Kayden Glenn. Brooks gained 206 total yards and two touchdowns, while Glenn rushed for 180 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 10.0 yards per carry. Glenn was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 54 yards.
Walnut Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Hoxie, their victory was their fifth straight at home , which pushed their record up to 10-0.
