LaCrosse had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.4 points) and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They came within four points of losing the streak, but they secured a 45-41 W against the Otis-Bison Cougars. Given the Leopards' advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 23rd, while the Cougars are ranked 117th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

LaCrosse's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Otis-Bison, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-3.

LaCrosse and Otis-Bison will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next games. The next time the Leopards see the court they'll take on Ellis at 7:30 p.m. on January 13, 2026. As for Otis-Bison, their break will end when they face Stafford at 7:00 p.m. on January 6, 2026.
