Softball Recap: Caledonia's Victory on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Seven

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Caledonia). They put the hurt on the Lourdes Eagles with a sharp 20-4 win on Monday. The victory was nothing new for the Warriors as they're now sitting on seven straight.

The team relied heavily on Elsa Blum, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Raiya Goetzinger also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Caledonia kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in four consecutive matchups.

Caledonia pushed their record up to 12-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Lourdes, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-10.

Looking ahead, Caledonia will be playing at home against Dover-Eyota at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lourdes, they will head out on the road to square off against Goodhue at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
