Volleyball Recap: St. Helena Saints vs. Upper Lake Cougars
St. Helena was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Upper Lake Cougars. The Saints were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cougars apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.
St. Helena started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 23-25, 25-22, 25-17, 25-20.
Upper Lake got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kiri Casperson out in front who had 14 digs and two aces. That's the most aces Casperson has posted since September 2nd.
St. Helena's loss dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Upper Lake, their win ended a six-match drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 6-6.
We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. St. Helena will challenge rival Clear Lake at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Upper Lake is set to square off against their familiar foe Fort Bragg at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
