Volleyball Recap: Spring Grove Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Spring Grove took on Pine River-Backus on Saturday. The Lions fell 2-0 to the Tigers. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Brinley Middendorf paced Spring Grove's offense, picking up five kills. Middendorf got some help from Claire Sherburne and her nine assists. Izabel Kaufmann controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Spring Grove now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Pine River-Backus, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season.

Spring Grove wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Schaeffer Academy on the 23rd. As for Pine River-Backus, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-1 victory against Bemidji on the 23rd.
