With a playoff win on the line, Filer rose to the challenge on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Marsh Valley Eagles 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Wildcats have posted since April 17th.

Brett Paxton was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off eight hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Carsten Eskelsen was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April.

Filer's win bumped their record up to 19-6-1. As for Marsh Valley, they moved to 22-6 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

As of now, neither Filer nor the Eagles have any future games scheduled.
