Soccer Game Preview: Johnstown-Monroe vs. Groveport-Madison

The Johnstown-Monroe Johnnies are taking a road trip to square off against the Groveport-Madison Cruisers at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Groveport-Madison took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Johnstown-Monroe, who comes in off a win.

Johnstown-Monroe's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They put the hurt on Lakewood with a sharp 6-0 win. Considering Johnstown-Monroe have won five matchups by more than two goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Groveport-Madison was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They fell 3-1 to Pickerington Central. The contest was a 1-1 toss-up at halftime, but Groveport-Madison couldn't quite close it out.

The victory made it two in a row for Johnstown-Monroe and bumps their season record up to 7-5-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those two matches. As for Groveport-Madison, their loss dropped their record down to 1-9.
