Granby had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Nansemond River Warriors on Thursday. The Comets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 contests by eight runs or more this season.
Kyrsten Wells made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over six innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, Anwynn Williams and Kya Harris did most of the damage at the plate: Williams got on base in all five of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double, while Harris got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run. That's the most stolen bases Harris has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Mackenzie Pastorious, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one run.

Granby wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 4-0 victory against Menchville on the 3rd. Nansemond River does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
