            Baseball Recap: Oceanside Mariners vs. Waterville Panthers        
        
		
        
        
            Oceanside had lost three straight on the road, but  on Thursday they dropped their record down to 6-6 to make it four. They fell just short of the Waterville Panthers by a score of  4-2. That's two games in a row now that the Mariners have lost by  exactly two  runs.
As for Waterville, their record is now 4-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  win they have posted  against Oceanside since April 25, 2022.
For Waterville's part,  Ben Foster spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two  runs (both of which were unearned)  on five hits and racked up nine Ks.
 On the hitting side, Waterville saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Garrett Gendreau, who  went 1-for-3 with two  stolen bases and two  runs.  Milo Taylor was another,  going 1-for-2 with one  stolen base and one  run.
 Both  squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Oceanside will welcome Lawrence  at 4:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. The last three games the Bulldogs have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Waterville, they will host John Bapst Memorial  at 4:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
