Bartlett and Briarcrest Christian are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2017, but likely not for long. The Panthers will head out to face off against the Saints at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Bartlett's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Tipton-Rosemark Academy with a sharp 10-0 victory. The win was some much needed relief for the Panthers as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Briarcrest Christian made easy work of Memphis University School on Wednesday and carried off a 12-2 victory. The Saints haven't had any issues with the Owls recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Lance Bryan tossed a big game, striking out nine batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Landon Rogers, who scored three runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-4. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Houston Walker, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Briarcrest Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .581. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive contests.

Bartlett's record now sits at 11-8-1. As for Briarcrest Christian, their record is now 13-8.

Bartlett couldn't quite get it done against Briarcrest Christian in their previous meeting back in March as they fell 7-2. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
