Lafayette faced Marquette in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Lancers blew past the Mustangs 3-0. The win was nothing new for the Lancers as they're now sitting on three straight.

Lafayette never let Marquette on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 29-27, 25-19.

Lafayette's offense was headlined by Alex Griffon and Patrick Riordan, who picked up 13 kills apiece. They got some help from Ethan Tran and his 19 assists.

Lafayette's victory bumped their record up to 12-5. As for Marquette, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 19-9.

Lafayette didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 win against Parkway South on the 1st. As for Marquette, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Webster Groves on the 30th.
