Baseball Recap: Hudson Gets the Win

Hudson's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They had just enough and edged out the Little Cypress-Mauriceville Bears 2-1. The win continues a trend for the Hornets in their matchups with the Bears: they've now won three in a row.

Alberto Ibarra spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on six hits and racked up ten Ks. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in February.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Cutter Warren, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Hudson's victory bumped their record up to 7-8-1. As for Little Cypress-Mauriceville, they moved to 13-4 with that loss, which also ended their five-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Hudson will head out on the road to take on Tompkins at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hudson's pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so Tompkins' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Little Cypress-Mauriceville, they will welcome West Orange-Stark at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Little Cypress-Mauriceville is facing West Orange-Stark at the right time seeing as West Orange-Stark is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
