Volleyball Recap: Oxford Wolverines vs. Bunnell Bulldogs
Oxford was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They fell 3-1 to the Bunnell Bulldogs. The Wolverines were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2022.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 22-25, 25-11, 25-23.
Several Wolverines players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tessa Hatch, who had 19 digs, two kills, and two aces. Hatch is also on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 17 or more in the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Vangie Magera, who had 20 digs, three aces, and a kill.
Even though they lost, Oxford was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 17 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least 17 aces in five consecutive contests.
Oxford's record now sits at 5-15. As for Bunnell, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-13.
