Basketball Recap: Caden Edmond Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Strom Thurmond

Central extended their postseason success on Friday against Strom Thurmond. They enjoyed a cozy 68-53 win over the Strom Thurmond Rebels. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Central to victory, but perhaps none more so than Caden Edmond, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 13 boards. Edmond has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 16 times he's played. Demetrius Myers was another key player, putting up 19 points and six assists.

Central was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. They posted eight more assists than Strom Thurmond's also-impressive total of ten.

Strom Thurmond lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Zy Rouse, who went 6-for-11 en route to 15 points and three steals. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in three-point shooting accuracy (60%). Another player making a difference was Landen Jones, who posted 13 points and eight boards.

Central's victory bumped their record up to 18-10. As for Strom Thurmond, they moved to 15-13 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Central wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 53-44 defeat against Liberty on the 26th. Strom Thurmond does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
