Hanover is 0-10 against Delone Catholic since April of 2019 but things could change on Thursday. The Nighthawks will head out to face off against the Squires at 6:00 p.m. Hanover has given up an average of 15.8 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Hanover came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 19-2 to Bermudian Springs. Having soared to a lofty 15 runs in the game before, the Nighthawks couldn't push the score so high this time.

Hanover saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sophia Rutledge, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Rutledge has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Delone Catholic ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out Fairfield 11-10. The high-scoring effort was just what the Squires needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.
Grace Hewitt was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out six batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ivy Nieves, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Teagan Funkhouser, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.
Delone Catholic kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Hanover's loss dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Delone Catholic, their record now sits at 5-9.
Hanover might still be hurting after the 15-0 defeat they got from Delone Catholic in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Nighthawks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
