After flying high against Pungo Christian Academy on Tuesday, Lawrence Academy came back down to earth. The Warriors came up short against the Camden County Bruins on Wednesday, falling 3-0. The Warriors' defeat signaled the end of their nine-game winning streak.

While Lawrence Academy was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Camden County's winning margin in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 25-11, 25-20.

Campbell Beasley was a one-woman wrecking crew For Camden County. as she had eight aces and four digs. What's more, Beasley racked up 24 assists, the most she's had since back in August of 2024. Hyla Mullen also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

Lawrence Academy's loss dropped their record down to 9-2. As for Camden County, their win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-1.

Coming up, Lawrence Academy will host The Oakwood School at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Camden County, they will be taking part in a tournament against Wake Prep Academy at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
