Baseball Game Preview: Green Bulldogs vs. Hoover Vikings

The Green Bulldogs will face off against the Hoover Vikings at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Green and Marlington, and Green kept the tradition alive. The Bulldogs walked away with a 6-3 win over the Dukes on Monday.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Hoover, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They came out on top against Field by a score of 6-1 on Friday.

Evan Fuller looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Ryan Cervenak, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and two runs. He has become a key player for Hoover: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 6-7 otherwise. Jack Andes was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

Hoover was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .385. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.

Hoover's victory bumped their record up to 10-7. As for Green, they now have a winning record of 9-8.
