Basketball Recap: Rank Disadvantage No Problem for Warren

Warren won the last time they faced Williamstown and things went their way on Friday too. The Warren Warriors secured a 47-42 W over the Williamstown Yellowjackets. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Warriors' disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 152nd in Ohio, while the Yellowjackets are ranked ninth in West Virginia).

Warren has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. As for Williamstown, their defeat ended a nine-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-1.

Warren will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Fort Frye at 7:30 p.m. on January 6, 2025. As for Williamstown, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Logan at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Williamstown's defense has only allowed 30 points per game this season, so Logan's offense will have their work cut out for them.
