Baseball Recap: North East Indians vs. North Harford Hawks

North East was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of the North Harford Hawks. The Indians were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hawks apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Garrett Slavin was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits.

On the hitting side, Brysen Keithley made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double. Those RBI marked the first that he has brought in this season. Another player making a difference was Jason Hash, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs.

North East's loss dropped their record down to 1-12. As for North Harford, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season.

North East will take on Joppatowne at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. North Harford does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
