Basketball Recap: Calvary Chapel Takes a Loss

Calvary Chapel was the 60-58 winner over Costa Mesa when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Calvary Chapel Eagles took a hard 64-50 fall against the Costa Mesa Mustangs on Wednesday. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Loss or not, Calvary Chapel got some senior leadership from Ben DeVries and Jorden Embry. DeVries posted 17 points, while Embry had 16 points. Embry has been hot recently, having posted 16 or more points the last three times he's played.

Calvary Chapel's defeat dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Costa Mesa, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-13 record this season.

Calvary Chapel didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 69-48 victory against Godinez Fundamental on the 15th. Costa Mesa has also already played their next contest, a 78-66 win against Fullerton on the 10th.
