Football Recap: Hoggard Skates Past New Hanover with Ease

Hoggard got themselves on the board against New Hanover on Friday, but New Hanover never followed suit. They took their game with ease, bagging a 34-0 victory over the Wildcats. Considering the Vikings have won four matchups by more than 23 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Leading Hoggard to victory were Matthew Boring and David Hunter. Boring rushed for 32 yards and a pair of touchdowns, while Hunter rushed for 110 yards and one TD. The dominant performance also gave Boring a new career-high in rushing touchdowns (two). Micah Hunter did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 84 receiving yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Hoggard was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 205 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

The win keeps Hoggard at an undefeated 6-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 36.3 points this season. As for New Hanover, their loss was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-4.
