Softball Game Preview: Poyen Indians vs. Hampton Bulldogs

The Poyen Indians will head out to take on the Hampton Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Poyen has struggled recently with six losses in a row, while Hampton will arrive with three straight victories.

Poyen fell victim to Magnet Cove and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 2-0.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hampton). Everything went their way against Fordyce on Tuesday as Hampton made off with a 15-0 win. Considering the Bulldogs have won three matches by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Hampton's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Poyen, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.

Poyen took their win against Hampton in their previous matchup back in April of 2019 by a conclusive 15-0. Will Poyen repeat their success, or does Hampton have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
