Softball Recap: Spencerport Now 9-2 over Last 11 Games

Spencerport barely beat Eastridge the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Rangers put the hurt on the Lancers with a sharp 9-2 win on Friday. Considering the Rangers have won five matches by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Spencerport has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for Eastridge, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 6-5.

Coming up, Spencerport will venture away from home to square off against Gates Chili at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Spartans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.82 runs per game on average), something the Rangers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Eastridge, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Pittsford at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Panthers will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Lancers surely won't give up without a fight.
