Mundy's Mill's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Fred Umeano, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 16 rebounds. The contest was Umeano's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Orlando Favors, who scored 10 points along with 7 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Woodward Academy beat Galloway 58-47 on Saturday. Given Woodward Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 112th, while Galloway is ranked 348th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Woodward Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Deke Cooper led the charge by scoring 15 points along with 5 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Miles Harvey, who scored 13 points.
Their wins bumped Mundy's Mill to 3-2 and North Clayton to 3-2.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as Mundy's Mill and Woodward Academy are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Mundy's Mill hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 53.4 points per game. However, it's not like Woodward Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 71.3 per game.
