Softball Recap: Arizona College Prep Comes Up Short

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Arizona College Prep couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell just short of the Canyon del Oro Dorados by a score of 2-1 on Tuesday.

Liliana Gagnon was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Arizona College Prep saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Taylor Estrella, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

Arizona College Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 23-8. As for Canyon del Oro, their victory was their 12th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 30-3.

Arizona College Prep does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Canyon del Oro, they will face off against Canyon View at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Dorados 1.2, the Jaguars 1.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
