Volleyball Recap: Dixon's Run of Five Straight Wins Now Over

After a string of five wins, Dixon's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell just short of the Naperville Central Redhawks by a score of 2-1. If the Dukes & Duchesses were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to the Redhawks when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Morgan Hargrave paced Dixon's offense, picking up eight kills. Hargrave got some help from Leah Carlson and her 11 assists. Hargrave was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Dixon's loss dropped their record down to 18-5. As for Naperville Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-9 record this season.

Coincidentally, Dixon and Naperville Central will both be playing Galesburg the next time they take the court. The Redhawks will head out to face the Silver Streaks at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Dukes & Duchesses will play them later in the day, at 11:00 a.m.
