Basketball Game Preview: Durham Trojans vs. Pierce Bears

The Durham Trojans will head out to face off against the Pierce Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Durham is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.

On Saturday, Durham didn't have too much trouble with Hamilton as they won 45-29. Given the Trojans' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 347th, while the Braves are ranked 744th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Pierce came up short against Colusa on Friday and fell 62-55. The Bears have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Durham has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.8 points per game. As for Pierce, their loss dropped their record down to 8-12.

Everything went Durham's way against Pierce in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, as Durham made off with a 58-36 win. Will Durham repeat their success, or does Pierce have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
