Football Recap: Lebanon Comes Up Short

If Lebanon was riding high fresh off their 55-34 takedown of Willard last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Yellowjackets were beaten by the Nixa Eagles 49-14 on Thursday. While losing is never fun, the Yellowjackets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri football rankings (they are ranked 32nd, while the Eagles are ranked second).

Although Lebanon took the loss, they still got scores from Carson Hill and Elisha Simmonds.

Jayden McCaster had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 144 yards and five scores on only 15 carries for Nixa. McCaster is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 110 every time he's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Adam McKnight, who threw for 137 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 87.5% of his passes.

Lebanon's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-3. As for Nixa, the win keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.
