Edgewood is 8-2 against Bassett since January of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Edgewood Lions will face off against the Bassett Olympians at 6:30 p.m.

Edgewood is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Workman on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Edgewood was dealt a 71-38 loss at the hands of Workman. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1110th, while the Lobos are ranked 324th).

Meanwhile, you're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Bassett on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew Pomona out of the water with a 74-13 final score. The Olympians pushed the score to 60-10 by the end of the third, a deficit the Red Devils had no chance of recovering from.

Bassett's victory bumped their record up to 9-12. As for Edgewood, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-14.

Edgewood was able to grind out a solid win over Bassett in their previous matchup two weeks ago, winning 42-34. The rematch might be a little tougher for Edgewood since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
