Baseball Recap: Robinson Drops Season-High Score on Central Cabarrus

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Robinson). They walked away with an 11-6 victory over the Central Cabarrus Vikings on Friday. The Bulldogs have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Vikings, too.

Tyler Kluttz made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off four hits. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Robinson let Jace Abraham and Aury Greenfield run wild. Abraham went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and one double, while Greenfield scored a run while going 2-for-4. Those three RBI gave Abraham a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Palo, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Robinson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .559. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Robinson is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.8 runs over those games. Central Cabarrus dropped their record down to 3-7 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Robinson wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 12-9 victory against A.L. Brown on the 22nd. As for Central Cabarrus, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 5-3 win against West Cabarrus on the 22nd.
