Baseball Recap: Florin Takes a Loss

Florin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 17-7 to the Johnson Warriors. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 18-7 last Tuesday.

Estevan Wheeler was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last three times he's played. Tristan Osorio was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2.

Florin's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Johnson, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-10.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Florin will take on rival Burbank at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Johnson is set to face off against their familiar foe Fairfield at 4:00 p.m. on the 22nd.
