Baseball Game Preview: Providence Panthers vs. Charlotte Catholic Cougars

The Providence Panthers will face off against the Charlotte Catholic Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Providence is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games.

On Tuesday, Providence made easy work of Independence and carried off an 11-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won 15 contests by eight runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Charlotte Catholic earned a 5-2 win over East Mecklenburg on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cougars.

Quinn O'Rourke looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single hit and allowed only one earned run over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, Charlotte Catholic's victory was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Luke Danser, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Paul Greeley was another, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Providence's record is now 20-5. As for Charlotte Catholic, their record now sits at 21-4-1.
