Recap: Norcross Blue Devils vs. Buford Wolves
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Norcross Blue Devils, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They fell just short of the Wolves by a score of 28-25. It was the first time this season that Norcross let down their fans at home.
When it comes to explaining why Norcross lost on Friday, one person who can't be blamed is Arrington (aj) Watkins. Despite the final result, he rushed for 47 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 234 yards and a touchdown on only 17 passes.
Buford had a senior duo take command as Kj Bolden picked up 76 receiving yards and three touchdowns and Dylan Raiola threw for 174 yards and four touchdowns. Raiola hasn't dropped below three passing touchdowns for four straight games.
Norcross' defeat dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Buford, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 11-1.
Norcross does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Buford will head out on the road to face off against Grayson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Grayson knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five matches -- so hopefully Buford likes a good challenge.
