Baseball Recap: Taft Takes a Loss

Taft had lost six straight at home, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 7-17 to make it seven. They came up short against the O'Connor Panthers, falling 10-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Raiders have suffered since March 1st.

Taft saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was JUSTIN PARKS, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

As for O'Connor, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season. The result was nothing new for O'Connor, who have now won 11 games by six runs or more so far this season.

On O'Connor's side, Ryan Mason made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out 12 over 5.1 innings pitched. Mason has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than ten strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

As of now, neither Taft nor O'Connor have any future games scheduled.
