Griffin Costa continued his hot streak on Wednesday by dropping his third-straight game with at least one stolen base. He got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs. Considering he played a big game the last time he faced off against East Union back in April of 2024, the result shouldn't come as too huge a shock. Costa is becoming a predictor of Oakdale's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 6-9 when he doesn't).

Costa's strong effort led Oakdale over East Union and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Mustangs are 8-2 against the Lancers going back to March of 2022, a lead they'll look to extend.
