Appleton North never let their opponents score on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Appleton West Terrors with a sharp 7-0 win. Considering the Lightning have won eight games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Appleton North has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.7 runs over those games. As for Appleton West, they are on a 14-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-12.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Appleton North is set to face off against their familiar foe Oshkosh West at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Appleton West will challenge rival Neenah at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
