Basketball Recap: Fountain Hills Snags Tenth Victory in Last 12 Games

If Camp Verde wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Fountain Hills, they should've done a better job of containing Lucas Grieco. The Fountain Hills Falcons blew past the Camp Verde Cowboys 56-31 on Thursday thanks in part to Grieco, who went 6 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 21 points. Those 21 points gave him a new career-high.

Camp Verde lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Julian Perez, who went 6 of 10 on his way to 14 points and five rebounds. Perez has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Gage Russell, who posted five points and three steals.

Fountain Hills has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. As for Camp Verde, they now have a losing record at 9-10.

Fountain Hills will be playing in front of their home fans against Highland Prep West at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Camp Verde has already played their next contest, a 47-44 win against Anthem Prep on the 17th.
