Softball Recap: Nathan Hale Falls Short of Franklin Pierce in the Playoffs

Nathan Hale and Franklin Pierce squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Nathan Hale had to settle for second. They fell 9-4 to the Cardinals. The Raiders just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Nathan Hale saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gigi Drohan, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run. Another was Francis Shutts, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Nathan Hale's defeat dropped their record down to 8-15. As for Franklin Pierce, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-2 record this season.

As of now, neither Nathan Hale nor Franklin Pierce have any future games scheduled.
