Softball Recap: Millikan Sets Scoring Season-High Against Compton

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Millikan). They never let the Compton Tarbabes get on the board and left with an 18-0 win on Wednesday. Considering the Rams have won ten matchups by more than seven runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Peyton Dobrovolny, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one RBI. Those two hits gave her a new career-high. Riley McAndrew was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI and one run.

Millikan was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .818. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .367 or higher in six consecutive contests.

Millikan has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Compton, they are on a 23-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-16.

Millikan didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 7-2 win against Moorpark on the 15th. Compton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
