Recap: Elkhorn South Storm vs. Lincoln East Spartans
There's no place like home for the Elkhorn South Storm, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 61-47 win over Lincoln East on Saturday. This was payback for Elkhorn South, who suffered a 63-55 defeat the last time these two teams met.
It was another big night for Lincoln Schwarz, who scored 20 points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Connor Preble, who scored nine points.
Despite the loss, Lincoln East still got an impressive performance from Carter Mick, who scored 18 points. Mick is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last eight games he's played. Another player making a difference was Luke Larson, who scored eight points.
Elkhorn South's win bumped their record up to 6-11. As for Lincoln East, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-8.
Elkhorn South will head out on the road to challenge Lincoln Northeast at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Lincoln East, Lincoln East and Grand Island will face off at 6:45 p.m. on January 29th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nebraska (Grand Island is ranked 133rd, while Lincoln East is ranked 135th).
