Baseball Game Preview: Decatur Central Hawks vs. Perry Meridian Falcons

For the second straight game, Decatur Central will face off against Perry Meridian. The Hawks will face off against the Falcons at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

On Tuesday, Decatur Central needed a bit of extra time to put away Perry Meridian. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 victory over the Falcons.

Zach Losito was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-5. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Drew Dalton, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one stolen base.

The win got Decatur Central back to even at 1-1. As for Perry Meridian, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Decatur Central came out on top in a nail-biter against Perry Meridian when the teams last played on Tuesday, sneaking past 5-4. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hawks since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
