Basketball Recap: Webber Takes a Loss

After flying high against Norris City-Omaha-Enfield on Friday, Webber came back down to earth. The Webber Trojans fell to the Madison Trojans 87-82. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Webber came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 210th, while Madison is ranked 470th).

Despite the loss, Webber still got an impressive performance from Nathaniel Marlow, who posted 49 points. That was a full 59.8% of Webber's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Kylan Moser, who put up 15 points.

Webber's defeat dropped their record down to 20-5. As for Madison, their victory bumped their record up to 5-16.

Looking ahead, Webber will be playing at home against Zeigler-Royalton at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Webber is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 65.8 points per game this season. Madison does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
