Softball Recap: Palmerton Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

If Palmerton was riding high fresh off their 14-4 takedown of Lehighton on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Blue Bombers lost 16-6 to the Northwestern Lehigh Tigers on Thursday. GRACE SCHNEIDER and MIKAYLA PENGELLY did some serious damage despite the final result: SCHNEIDER went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI, while PENGELLY went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. PENGELLY is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. OLIVIA KALMAN was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Palmerton's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-8. As for Northwestern Lehigh, they pushed their record up to 17-2 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Palmerton will square off against Northern Lehigh at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Bulldogs will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last. Northwestern Lehigh does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
