Preview: Hawkins Hawks vs. Sotomayor Wolves
The Hawkins Hawks will be playing at home against the Sotomayor Wolves at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Hawkins' favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four matches.
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Hawkins walked away with it. They blew past the Wolverines 66-44.
Meanwhile, Sotomayor strolled past Maywood CES with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 39-23.
Hawkins' victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-13. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.3 points per game. As for Sotomayor, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-11 record this season.
Things could have been worse for Hawkins, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 55-38 loss to Sotomayor in their previous matchup back in January of 2022.
