Softball Recap: Northeastern Comes Up Short

Monday just wasn't the day for Northeastern's offense. They came up short against the West Jefferson Roughriders on Monday, falling 7-0. The Jets haven't had much luck with the Roughriders recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

Kylee Williams spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and three unearned) runs on five hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

Northeastern's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-3. As for West Jefferson, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-2.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Roughriders beat Northeastern by a score of 21-0 on Tuesday.
